Bye Bye, Snapdragon? Xiaomi distances himself, apparently, of Qualcomm Chips and build your own Smartphone processors under the name the Pinecone.
So far, the Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has
Processors from Qualcomm or MediaTek. So is the home of the Xiaomi
Mi 5, for example, a Snapdragon 820 CPU. But apparently it is
in the case of Xiaomi for processors now to in-house production. The
the Wall Street Journal reported.
Xiaomi has a daughter company called Pinecone
Electronics. This chip, in the future, the productions of the Xiaomi
. In cooperation of Pinecone Electronics and the
Chinese semiconductor manufacturer Leadcore was already a
cheaper Smartphone called Redmi 2A, a separate Chip is manufactured.
In the future, however, Xiaomi wants to attack, according to the WSJ sources also in the upper class.
Xiaomi’s own high-end SoC, you mean Pinecone and apparently even within a month. More accurate is not known. Who switched, however, now the MWC will be disappointed. The Chinese company will not be represented at the end of February in Barcelona.
Trend towards self-production
Not only Xiaomi relies on specially-produced processors. Also
Apple, Samsung and Huawei to build under its own flag Chips for their Smartphones. In Europe
for example, the Galaxy S7 and S7, Edge, with Samsung’s own
Exynos processors fitted. In the case of Huawei, the subsidiary building company
Hisilicon, the Kirin processor for Top Smartphones such as the Huawei P9 or the Mate 9.
Self-production is so in the Trend – not least because it comes with Qualcomm to bottlenecks. To feel about LG, its flagship LG G6 will have to do without Snapdragon 835, because Samsung gets supposedly until April 2017 exclusive access to the latest processor Generation.
